it’s all about….

…music. I know I this realisation over and over again but every time it’s like some big revelation for me. Music is part of what makes life very much worth living. On that note, I love Paul Simon. I just watched a DVD of his Graceland: The African Concert and it was just what I needed – something uplifting and not too long, something to take my mind of academics and make me appreciate life. I love Paul Simon’s music, especially the song “You Can Cal Me Al.” But there was something about watching a live performance (well, on DVD) that I liked. Paul Simon seems just like a kid, somehow…he’s kinda awkward but endearingly sincere. And the African rhythms provided by his fantastic percussionists and the vocals of Ladysmith Black Mambazo have such…depth. They’re strong. I love strong rhythms. I love Paul Simon. I guess that’s all. Oh, well, and Guster. I LOVE Guster. I love their music, I love their lyrics, I love their drummer, I love them. Yes. Music is great.
