Pattern Recognition

Eating Grapenuts, which I haven’t done for a while, and enjoying this spiffy i-book that my stepmother borrowed from her work. Had fun with the radio stations on i-tunes, but it would have been more fun if there were mp3s. Today I am going to be a bridesmaid at the wedding of a former student of my mother’s, which means hair up again and high heels. I finished a book yesterday (Pattern Recognition) which I hadn’t ever read before. This is something I haven’t done in a long time, and it was very satisfying. Afterwards I had that odd, disoriented feeling that I get when part of my mind is still off in the world of the book. Makes me wander around aimlessly before I start to recover and slowly process things around the house. Anyway, ’twas a nice change.

    wedding… riiiiight

And yeah, that book feeling? get it all the time. And then there’s the one where you just sit there going “wow” for like two hours until somebody yells at you to start doing something productive.

Few people know about the mind altering effects books can have.

Oh I totally know that book feeling. Its one of the best feelings in the world. Unless its a sad book in which case its simultaneously the best and worst feeling in the world. I thought maybe I was the only one who felt all disoriented after leaving the bookworld. I should have known you would be like me in that regard. (or maybe i’m like you, I dunno)
