Book!

Whoa, okay, somehow there is a new Orson Scott Card book out and I didn’t know about it. This is quite distressing. It’s the newest book in the Bean stories, parallel to the original Ender books. And I want to read it. Now. Eep.

Update

I haven’t updated in a bit, but now I think I’ve forgotten most of what I would have written anyway. This week was unbelievably summery; I felt as though I could smell summer in the air… a faint hint of honeysuckle and sunscreen. I hope it doesn’t just keep getting warmer until June, though, because [...]

Wicked

Okay, wow, I’m very excited: Wicked, the musical I missed when it was first in SF, the musical that I listen to every day, whose songs I sing in voice lessons, is coming to San Francisco in August. YAY! Of course, it won’t be the original cast, but I almost don’t care, though I would [...]

What a Girl Wants

They say if you love something let it go And if it comes back, it’s yours, that’s how you know -Christina Aguilera, “What a Girl Wants.” Do we buy this? Makes sense to me. If something/someone doesn’t come back, maybe you just have to accept that you weren’t meant to keep it/him/her. On the other [...]

What?

I feel like my day can be summed up in one word: “What?” I’m too tired to post any relevant details, and probably would protect the post anyway. But for the record, today has been a very long and confusing day. And I probably didn’t get enough done; shikata ganai (sp), or rather, c’est la [...]

Music meme

Music meme from : Step 1: Open your Winamp or other MP3 player. (I’m pretty sure “your Winamp” violates some gramatical rule…) Step 2: Put all of your music on random. (Er, set play order to shuffle) Step 3: Write down (or copy) the first twenty songs it plays, no matter how embarrassing. (Embarassing? Ha!) [...]

St. Patrick’s Breastplate

I bind unto myself today the virtues of the starlit heaven, the glorious sun’s life-giving ray, the whiteness of the moon at even, the flashing of the lightning free, the whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks, the stable earth, the deep salt sea, around the old eternal rocks. From “St. Patrick’s Breastplate.”

TGIF

Started the day sleepy in class, but the verdict on the day overall is definitely positive. I got several useful things done, did well on my last CS assignment, and then had a very enjoyable evening of dinner and two anime movies with friends. I feel contentedly tired and ready to get enough sleep and [...]

Ravenpuff

I give in to the memes…. You’re a Ravenpuff!: You are a very analytical and ingenius person, someone that likes to invent new things. The way you look at life is with wonder, and sometimes you’re even a little naive. But people love you for that trait and they feel the need to protect you [...]

Wants

Sometimes I feel as though I just can’t balance everything. I am tired of feeling so fragile; why can’t I be stronger? It is that age old feeling of not being able to make everyone (including myself) happy. I want to respect and support my mother and abide by her wishes; I want to be [...]
